The PlayStation Plus is the "premium" subscription service of the PSN, which allows users to enter an exclusive club with a series of dedicated content and services. Unlike the PSN Live Card, the PlayStation Plus Card does not add the equivalent in currency to the online wallet, but the code it contains directly activates the subscription service.

The PlayStation Plus guarantees subscribers access to the Cloud Storage, which allows up to 150MB of game saves to be remotely stored and then retrieved from all associated PS3 systems under the same PSN account. This service provides a significant space-saving on the Hard Disk, as well as the ability to easily transfer data from one console to another.

The Automatic Update feature ensures that the console automatically turns on and downloads the latest system update and patches for the last 10 played titles. This service eliminates the waiting time for downloads, making it ideal for those with limited gaming time who do not want to be caught off guard by unexpected updates.

The "Game of the Month" benefit allows subscribers to download a free game that is changed every month. These are typically titles that have been previously released on physical media. In July, the available game is "Deus Ex".

The "Catalog Games" feature provides free downloads of 6 games, which can include both previously released titles and high-quality PSN games. Every 3 months, two of these six games will be replaced with different titles, such as Darksiders, Outland, and Renegade OPS.

The "Evergreen Games" benefit offers free downloads of 3 games that have been previously released: inFamous2, LittleBigPlanet2, and MotorStorm Apocalypse. These games will be available from June 1, 2012, to June 1, 2013.
